Chrissy Trilling-Raices has raised over $10 million throughout her 20 year career in the nonprofit sector. She is an expert in philanthropic solutions, including annual funds, grants, special events, board development, digital strategies, major gifts, and planned giving, and has worked for a wide variety of causes: educational foundations, housing, mental health/family services, disabilities, advocacy, youth services, and others. Chrissy specializes in supporting small fundraising shops, juggling strategy, execution, and limited resources to raise funds and grow development programs.
Chrissy holds a BS in Political Science and Women’s Studies from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana. She originally intended to go into politics, but after a summer interning at the White House for President Clinton, she realized that politics involved a lot of fundraising—and if she was going to be raising money, she wanted to see those funds make a more direct impact in the world.
Now, she uses her exceptional writing and speaking skills to connect with people and make a difference through the profession of fundraising. Chrissy is passionate about human rights causes, including women’s rights, LGBTQ advocacy, and racial injustice, as well as environmental and animal protection. She still lives by a lesson learned from her parents as a kid: “Don’t just complain. Do something about it! Lead the positive change.”
