Shanan M. Egger Founder
Shanan Egger is a leader in the nonprofit realm, with over 25 years of progressive accounting experience. He is a results-oriented CFO for nonprofit organizations and is known for his thoughtful, thorough, and compassionate approach to stabilizing and developing financial departments.
Shanan brings deep value to each of his client relationships by first identifying the elements that make each organization unique, and then combining those elements with sound financial practices to develop a strategy that ultimately catapults the organization’s programmatic reach. He helps clients identify and eliminate finance department errors and inefficiencies, mitigate risks, and establish long-term strategies for organizational expansion, sustainability, and compliancy. In one client partnership, Shanan refinanced a pooled loan program, generating a savings of 25% over 6 years, and implemented a new cost structure that was later recommended to other public agencies as best practice, and is now adopted by many as standard protocol.
Shanan is proficient in a wide range of financial management services, including cash management, grant compliancy/reporting, financial reporting, audit preparation, commercial insurance, taxation, cost analysis, uniformed guidance, internal controls/policies, and employee benefits administration. He has worked extensively with a variety of funding sources, including: Department of Human Services, Department of Children and Family Services, Illinois State Board of Education, US Department of Housing and Urban Development, US Department of Health and Human Services, and many others throughout federal, state, county, and local governments.
Shanan is an active member of the community. As a member of the Masons, he works with the Shriners and Toys for Tots to help address a variety of children’s needs. He enjoys coaching local softball teams and personally supporting organizations that serve the greater Chicago area. Outside of the office, he enjoys boating with his wife and kids in Lake Geneva.
